I was excited to try this product because I knew it was a new release. It was great I had a chance to get a sneak peak before the product hit the market.

After using the product for just 1 week, I knew I was on to something good with this cleanser! Ingredients
Benzoyl peroxide is a powerful acne-fighting ingredient, but it can also be drying. According to INKEY List, it was “Created in partnership with dermatologists” and “its unique formula contains Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid to help combat the drying effects of Benzoyl Peroxide by drawing water into the skin and locking in moisture.”1 Though I’d used Benzoyl peroxide in the past to dry out breakouts, I found that it left my skin feeling stripped and dry.
I was excited to find a cleansing product that contained this powerful ingredient, but didn’t have the harsh side effects of drying my skin. This cleanser contains glycerin to help combat the drying effects of benzoyl peroxide and lock in moisture. It also has hyaluronic acid, which is already naturally present in the skin, and helps to attract and hold water in the tissue. It contains two different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to remain on the skin post-wash-off and help lock in moisture.
The Cleanser
I love that INKEY List found a way to use the powerful acne-fighting benefits of benzoyl peroxide while soothing and protecting the skin keeping it happy! The face cleanser itself is a white lotion-like consistency with no weird smell. It’s creamy and very hydrating and I can attest to that. It feels so nourishing on the skin and doesn’t leave behind a residue.
How to Use
Any product that you use on your skin, especially for the first time, has the potential to cause irritation. If you have sensitive skin, it’s even more important to introduce new products slowly and carefully. With that in mind, here are some skincare tips for using Acne Solution with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. For the first 3 days, apply the product sparingly to one or two small affected areas. If you don’t experience any discomfort, you can start using it once a day, every 3 days in your skin care routine.
On the days when you’re not using Acne Solution in your morning or nighttime routine, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser. And when you do use the product, make sure to massage it into your skin for no longer than 1-2 minutes before rinsing thoroughly and patting dry. By following these simple steps, you can help reduce the chance of irritation and maximize the effectiveness of Acne Solution. (FYI, I jumped right into using this product and I didn’t experience any irritation at all.)
Something that works for me is to make sure that my skin is completely free of dirt, debris, or makeup before using this cleanser on my skin. So if you have a full face of makeup or applied any makeup products, I’d recommend using a gentle cleaner as a cleansing first pass so that way the ingredients will work more effectively.
When I’m in the shower I apply the product and I massage it into the face. I leave it on for two minutes and honestly, it feels like such a treat on the skin. I actually love it more than my more luxurious and far more expensive cleansers. It is mild on my skin and my skin never feels tight or stripped after using it, which is amazing because my old cleansers always left me feeling dry and irritated.
